How you will make an impact:

This position develops and implements the Nalgene Outdoor sales strategy for the North American region. This includes developing/growing our distributor network, as well as direct retail customers; running local rep groups (as needed); achieving top and bottom line sales objectives; implementing sales strategies; and assisting in positioning the brand for growth into new categories and channels. This position will report to the General Manager of Nalgene Outdoor.

What you will do:

1. Responsible for the commercial results for the North America region. Drive to achieve business objectives and high level of customer satisfaction.

2. Manage and develop the regional distributor/customer network.

3. Lead the generation & execution of Brand/Business development initiatives (incl. new channel development, new product introduction, co-branding, Licensing, private label, etc.).

4. Develop & execute annual sales strategy by customer, channel, country to achieve set short & long-term results. Prepare and review sales reporting and provide in-depth sales analysis.

5. Identify, evaluate & recommend national / channel-specific distributors in region. Develop new sales opportunities via new channels and new partnerships.

6. Execute brand-building & brand communication activities.

7. Visit markets (to customers/retailers/distributors).

8. Develop/expand our current distributor network. Hire and direct local rep groups (as needed).

9. Lead a B2B relationship for the private label part of the business in order to drive growth of consumer products.

10. Collect, analyze & present customer/business information for use in the annual operating & planning cycles.

11. Provide regional market condition updates (economic, political, regulatory, commercial, competitive, market intelligence, etc) and prepare monthly and quarterly activity & results reports.

12. Attend North American (and possibly European) trade shows as required.

13. Perform duties and participate in projects as assigned.

How you will get here:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher is required.

Experience/Abilities:

  • Minimum 7 years of sales experience in general sporting goods/outdoor industry or consumer market is required.
  • Strong intuition for business and proactive customer-focus.
  • Goal-oriented with strong drive to achieve
  • Outgoing personality with good integrity.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Ability to work under stressful situations in a matrix organization
  • Excellent interpersonal skills (verbal and written) are required,.
  • Must be fluent in English.
  • Consistent track record in working optimally with cross-functional teams including all areas of marketing, buying and finance.
  • Ability to think like an entrepreneur, possess a high degree of creative ability, analytical skills and independent judgment.
  • Experience running regional distributors/channel partners.
  • Ability to establish work priorities and handle complex relations remotely.
  • Innovator with the ability to influence management at all levels (internally and externally). Ability to adopt change quickly and take appropriate risks to improve processes services and products. Background and experience in a global consumer products company preferred.
  • Ability to travel frequently is required.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in Massachusetts is $115,000.00-$153,000.00.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
